Expectations from trading - contentment

An exellent blog post on the expectations from trading is available at Carl Futia's Blog. Readers MUST read this post in full.

Some Excerpts are:

I have been in this business full time for nearly 30 years now. I have known many traders. The majority of them were only in the business a relatively brief time. Most of these left because they lost money but some left because, even thought they were making money trading, they couldn't stand the constant frustration traders experience.

So as a practical matter you should count yourself fortunate indeed if you consistently capture a small part of any given market swing.

There is much more. Go to the blog and read the post, not once, but over and over again.

Thanks for suggesting this blogpost sir. Though many would look at it expecting some mathematical figues, it makes more sense to think the way the author does. Nice and sensible one!

Hi sir,

Thank you soooooo much, i was wondering why you even didn't mind my doubt about trading expectation, but you have done so much help to me by this post , its a real eye opener, I was never satisfied with my small small profits , frustrated by the dream of making big money, taking big bets i end up in Zero. But now , after reading this post and the blog post, i find out what was my shortcoming, I reserve my gratitude towards you sir.

Awesome article. Thanks for making us aware of that.

In fact today I was thinking on the same lines as I missed on shorting the market yesterday and could not leverage today's fall. However last week was good as I could get good profit. This article gave me the right thoughts.

BTW, Sudarshan Sir me too a great fan of yours. You are one of the few analysts whose advice I sincerely listen and believe.

Thanks & Regards
